About the Club

Butterfield Country Club has long established itself at one of the finest Country Clubs in the Chicagoland area. Originally designed and built during the “golden era” of golf course architecture by William Langford in 1920, this classic course has gained worldwide recognition after a redesign by Steve Smyers in 2010. The 27 hole layout offers an abundance of challenging and exciting holes, with multiple tee boxes delivering a masterful experience for players of all skill levels.

Upon entering the property, guests should proceed to the bag drop/valet podium located near the entrances to the Golf Shop and Men’s Locker Room. An attendant will be available to park your car, take care of your golf bag, and direct you to the Men’s or Women’s Locker Rooms where our staff can ensure you’re all set to enjoy a great round!

  • Golf Course Dress Code
    • We realize any Dress Code is an area subject to interpretation and it is not possible, nor necessary, to provide a detailed guide covering all situations. General guidelines are provided here, but all individuals are encouraged to remember that at any point the BCC campus may be hosting a variety of social and athletic activities occurring simultaneously. For example, banquet participants, members entertaining special guests, and golfers all potentially mingle in the communal areas of the clubhouse; that same mingling happens among tennis, pool and Lodge facilities. Therefore, the spirit of this guidance is to support the high overall image of BCC that is expected, while promoting fun and not offending any member, guest or staff. Everyone is responsible for their own and their guests’ compliance.

      GOLF COURSE DRESS CODE:
This golf dress code applies on the course and to all the practice areas. Again, what might be inappropriate for adults and teens might well be very appropriate for smaller children.  Our members’ discretion is relied upon.

      Gentlemen
All golfers must wear a golf shirt, no tee-shirts allowed and we prefer all shirts be tucked in and worn neatly. Hats/visors must be worn correctly. No denim or cutoff shorts are permitted. Knee-length shorts are considered proper attire.

      Ladies
Female shirts that are designed to be untucked are appropriate. Skirts and shorts that are designed for golf are appropriate. Apparel designed for tennis or yoga are not permitted.

  • Cell Phone Policy
    • Cell phones, iPads, etc are now a necessity of life and we recognize there are many personal and business reasons for having them available We prefer instruments be carried on silent or vibrating mode If a call is received while in the clubhouse, we ask that you use the lobby or step outside for all except the briefest of calls.

Important: Due to the fact that most instruments have camera/ video capabilities, our insurance carrier insists that instruments not be used in the pool locker rooms, nor in any wet areas or locker rooms of the Club.
